Trump cleaning house? Cheney to be investigated?
"For what they did, honestly, they should go to jail." - Donald Trump
In a recent piece Andrew Surabian, former aid to Steve Bannon (yes, we know), makes the case that Trump will actually move to reduce crony capitalism, particularly the Obama/Biden kind and has overall corporate power in his sights to boot.
All we can say is at this point we are absolutely sure that the crony system at the federal level will at least shift.

Of course, lawfare isn’t just happening in the DOJ’s Antitrust Division. From suits against states that won’t let illegal immigrants vote to bogus cases against Tesla CEO Elon Musk for merely raising money for Trump, the Biden administration has perpetuated lawfare throughout the rest of the DOJ too. That’s where Pam Bondi, Trump’s attorney general nominee, will prove instrumental.
Bondi, who has already fought partisan “justice” officials as an impeachment lawyer for Trump, is a fighter who has promised to clean house at the DOJ and ensure justice is finally brought back to the larger department.
In an August 2023 interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Bondi said, “When Republicans take back the White House … the Department of Justice, the prosecutors will be prosecuted — the bad ones” and “the investigators will be investigated.”
“The investigators will be investigated”. Ooh sounds ominous. Is this Trump busting “norms” again?
We hope so.
Norms need to be busted. People who acted badly, and perhaps illegally in the unrelenting effort to “get” Trump, should be held to account. As we’ve said before, many people probably did very bad things for what they thought were the right reasons.
Of course there are those who did very bad things just because they hated Trump too.
Which brings us to Liz Cheney.
