The DC bureaucracy is very afraid of the change Trump would bring

They came after Trump. They fear he will come for them.

Today NBC did a Trump piece entitled; “If Trump wins, he could weaponize U.S. spy services against his domestic political enemies, former intel officers warn”.

It’s a laughable piece particularly given that all that is warned that Trump would do in a second term, has been done to him.

It starts with “Donald Trump could turn America’s spy services into weapons of “retribution”.

Really? That is possible given that Congress has de-fanged itself over the last few decades and handed evermore power to the Executive Branch. We wouldn’t put it past Trump to engage in a vendetta given that the justice system, and we think this can be said objectively, was weaponized against him.

Consider also the intel agency folks flat out lying about Russiagate, the failure to prosecute Hillary Clinton for the missing 30,000 emails, the intel agency letter managed by Anthony “Rockin’ in the Free World” Blinken that insisted that the Hunter Biden laptop story was “Russian disinformation”. And on and on and on. There are literally dozens of examples of the state being weaponized against the former president largely because he was perceived as an outsider who was hostile to the “deep state”.

It wasn’t because he’s an ass, or a cad, or vulgar, these are excuses. The reason they came after Trump is because Trump was not part of “the club”. Bush, Obama, Biden, the bureaucracy knew how to handle them. Trump was a different animal.

And we feel like we have to say, as we often do when talking about Trump specifically, that we have big issues with the guy. These issues are unlikely to ever go away. But for NBC to fret about Trump weaponizing government after the past seven years is just absurd.

It is quite understandable that the most vicious partisans are afraid of payback. They went all in against Trump, and if the American people put Trump back in the White House, and it is possible that he could win decisively, it is reasonable to expect that Trump (and company) will go all in on them.

The first Trump presidency destroyed (or at least seriously derailed) the careers of many people who had long attached themselves to Hillary Clinton. Remember that picture of all the Obama staffers looking so glum on the day after the election. It’s the look of MASSIVE pieces of politico cheese being moved unexpectedly.

That’s a big part of the assault on the Trump presidency. These people, who were sure they’d be running the show indefinitely suddenly had the rug pulled out from under them.

Trump had ended the Bush “dynasty” a year before. Then he ended the Clinton one. People were PISSED in official Washington. So they turned to their friends lodged deep within the bureaucracy to make things as difficult as possible for the new president from day one. They went to war with Trump.

What they are really afraid of is Trump airing their dirty laundry the way they did his. And the thing is we know about Trump’s dirty laundry. If the American people give him the White House again that could be seen as a mandate to really get personal.
