Elon Musk: "The degree to which Twitter, simply, was an arm of the government was not well understood by the public"
One can see Musk talking about the above HERE.
We remember the dawn of Twitter. It was pretty good. It didn’t seem terribly biased. In fact, in the early days bias was something we didn’t even think about. For the most part Twitter was fun to use. Alissa Milano hadn’t turned into the uber wokie yet (as far as we knew). At one point, between two Twitter profiles we had amassed something in the neighborhood of 25 or 30 thousand followers.
Then something happened. Our reach in Twitter pretty much went away. Soon a new word was coined - “shadow ban”. Post all you want but no one is going to see your content. This was the case for many people who had opinions divergent from the reining political philosophy at Twitter.
We remember the Project Veritas video (there were multiple) from a year ago that shined the light on what happened. In the video a senior engineer explains that at Twitter (before Elon) “We’re all commie as f**k.”
Then consider that the Twitter Files showed that government agencies and Twitter were (allegedly) working together to suppress political speech. What does that tell us? Shoot, we don’t know exactly but it sure as hell isn’t good.
