100% Rusky Tariff? Russiagate Investigation, The Importance of Air Conditioning, Trump Wants Public Media Dead
Plus other stuff
Since the ACC Facebook Page is no longer with us, we will be doing more general crony news (links etc) in this space going forward.
Trump threatens 100 percent secondary tariffs on Russia trade
It’s less than the 400% tariff Kevin O’Leary wanted on China. But this is still pretty significant.
(Insert Trump voice.) “We’re very, very unhappy with them, and we’re going to be doing very severe tariffs, if you don’t have a deal in 50 days, tariffs at about 100%, they call them secondary tariffs,” Trump said from the White House while meeting with NATO’s secretary general, Mark Rutte.
Trump Admin Cooking On Major Criminal Conspiracy Case Against Russiagate Plotters: Report
Some of us believed. Some of us wanted to believe but didn’t really. Some of us smelled a rat. Some of us knew there were many rats. Rats, or no rats the whole Russiagate thing stunk from the very beginning.
Our colleague John Solomon has this to say;
In a bombshell revelation, investigative journalist John Solomon confirmed to Steve Bannon on Real America’s Voice that the Department of Justice and the FBI have been quietly building a major criminal conspiracy case targeting the Deep State’s decade-long effort to derail Donald Trump. According to Solomon, the scope of the investigation could finally deliver the accountability that many in the MAGA movement have long demanded.
“I think next week, over the next 10 days… the base, who’s been wondering, ‘Where is all that accountability?’—they’re gonna get some big surprises,” Solomon said.
Ok. Like, is someone going to jail? Is this a diversion from the Epstein issues?
From The Daily Mail: Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell is ready to reveal 'truth' of the pedophile client list, say insiders. So, why are Republicans blocking her?
You want to know why so many people in New York City are so open to jumping ship and heading for Miami Beach these days? No, it’s not JUST Mamdani coming on the scene. It’s because they know that wherever they build their new palaces, ample air conditioning is readily available.
There was a reason why most of the factories that built the United States are still in the north. It wasn’t just the agrarian slave labor system and its vestiges that blocked such development, it was that it was just too darn hot in the summer to do anything but sit on covered porches drinking mint juleps before the invention of air conditioning. (If you were one of the lucky ones).
We see the same phenomenon in the global south.
Will Bessent serve as Fed chair, Treasury secretary at the same time?
We don’t agree with Mr. Bessant a significant part of the time, but he has an old likeability. Whether thst likeability is emough to run the Treasury and the Fed at the same time, indeed if itse even legal, remains to be seen.
“I don’t think the market would react [well] to that. Even if it was someone they respected, it just too overtly undermines the independence of the Fed,” Stephen Myrow, a managing partner at Beacon Policy Advisors, told The Hill. “I don’t think they would do that.”
House debates Pentagon spending, crypto as rescissions head to Senate
While Hill and other Republicans call it “Crypto Week” in the House, Democrats are pushing “Anti-Crypto Corruption Week” calling for opposition to key parts of the GOP crypto agenda…
All about the stablecoins.
…“It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together. Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement,” the president said.
